with the warning message for quarantined files showing, it is hard to decide which files are worth keeping, restoring or deleting. since many of these files seem attached to plugins, it may have happened while i did not turn off the cron job before updating? in any case now i have this list of files, and am unsure if i can safely do any action on them.

I updated BPS-Pro but did not immediately add the files/folders to be excluded from being Quarantined, so I now have a lot of WP-Super-Cache files etc in the list of Quarantined files.

When I click on the Clear/Refresh button at the bottom of the list, this appears to do something, but the list does not clear for some reason. Is there something I am doing wrong, for example do I need to unlock a file before doing this?

Also on the Auto Restore page I do not see the “Exclude Dynamic FOlders – Temp/Cache” tab as shown on the last screenshot from this page.

If you are not seeing the new Exclude Dynamic Folders feature in AutoRestore then you do not have the latest BPS Pro version installed – 5.1.8.3. To force a BPS Pro plugin update check go to your WordPress Plugins main page, refresh your Browser, then click on the WordPress Dashboard link and you should now see a new BPS Pro version available. BPS Pro is now tied into the WordPress plugin update check and the steps above will force WP to recheck for any plugin updates.

Clear/Refresh is just for clearing the Quarantine Radio button form itself. ie your form selections are cleared.
Once you install the latest version of BPS Pro then add the folder path to exclude the WPSC dynamic cache folder.
You can then delete the WPSC cached files from Quarantine as they will be regenerated again by WPSC.
You would do this by choosing the “Delete File” Radio button option for cached files in Quarantine.

Ahhh thanks. Off to try and fix that.

I was wondering if I needed to turn off the auto-restore for plugin updates, guess I do and I didn’t, so I don’t have a notification that I need to update BPS-Pro even though the previous version was auto-restored.

Is it possible to automagically set the files/folders that should be excluded from quarantine? There are a number that should be for all installations I assume.

ARQ Infinity is a file monitor with autorestore and quarantine capabilities. ARQ monitors all of your WordPress website files that you have backed up for any changes/modifications to those files. So if you are updating a plugin then you are changing/modifying those plugin files and you would want to turn ARQ off while you are changing/modifying files, then click the wp-content Backup Files button to backup the new file changes/modifications to the plugin you updated before turning ARQ back on.

Yep there are several tools to calibrate ARQ to exclude folders from being checked. Please take a look at the very top of this Guide. The ARQ Guide was updated yesterday with some new info on calibrating ARQ.

Thanks. So far I seem to have 1 site now working ok. Need to upgrade the others, but it should be the same files/folders.

It took a while to remove over 600 files from quarantine (mostly cached pages) but all done.

Are you planning on adding a list of the excluded files, similar to the excluded folders? The excluded folders tab format is a lot easier to understand (for me at least).

BPS Pro is going from strength to strength.

I am planning on adding some new things to ARQ to speed up the initial calibration period – ie delete all cache/temp files in Quarantine with one click. I am noticing that themes that use thumbnail caching cause the biggest issue.

The Add / Exclude Static Files options are a little more complex since there are different possible options to choose from – Top Level folders, Specific folders and Individual files. The exclude folders option can be simple because there is only 1 option to exclude a specific folder from being checked. 😉
