 Organic Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Explained

If you found this website page using the search term organic search engine optimization (SEO) then you probably already understand what it is.  Wikipedia has a good general explanation of organic SEO and search engine optimization in general as well.  The basic idea is that organic search engine optimization (SEO) is done “naturally” by the text / page content that you add to your web pages and Meta Tags as opposed to using a paid ad program like Google Adwords that places your website link on search page with relevant or related search terms.

Now this is going to seem very basic to you if you are an SEO specialist or have a deeper understanding of search engine optimization (SEO).  Bear with me if you’re a pro.  If you look at the text content above it contains the organic keywords Organic, Search Engine Optimization and SEO.  Mathematically organic SEO keyword density is calculated simply by dividing the total number of keywords by the total number of words used.

Total word count is 100 words including the page title and paragraph title.

Keyword count:

Keyword “organic” was used 5 times so that equals 5{87f807582da4b5f7428eaf37b03197c347a9662c00ddee0279b63549468f22ea} of the total word count.
Keyword “SEO” was used 5 times so that equals 5{87f807582da4b5f7428eaf37b03197c347a9662c00ddee0279b63549468f22ea} of the total word count.
Keyphrase “search engine optimization” was used 3 times so that equals 3{87f807582da4b5f7428eaf37b03197c347a9662c00ddee0279b63549468f22ea} of the total word count.

(*Note: If you break down the keyphrase “search engine optimization” you will still have 3{87f807582da4b5f7428eaf37b03197c347a9662c00ddee0279b63549468f22ea} for individual keywords with the exception of the keyword search, which was used 6 times for a total of 6{87f807582da4b5f7428eaf37b03197c347a9662c00ddee0279b63549468f22ea}, which is still within the acceptable range of keyword density or usage)

So if you were wondering what the term keyword density meant, we just described it very basically above.

Opinions vary widely on what the optimum keyword density should be.  We have found that if you are in the range of 3{87f807582da4b5f7428eaf37b03197c347a9662c00ddee0279b63549468f22ea}-15{87f807582da4b5f7428eaf37b03197c347a9662c00ddee0279b63549468f22ea} then you are within the optimum keyword density range.

A very important factor that comes into play with organic search engine optimization (SEO) is that your meta tags should of course contain your primary keywords also referred to as your target keywords.

Another factor is total keyword count on a website page.  The shear volume of keywords used on a page, keeping the keyword density ratio within an acceptable range of course, will organically rank a website page higher.  If you use the shear volume organic search engine optimization (SEO) method you then run into the problem of having a “text heavy” page.  Too much text on a web page is not visually appealing to most human website visitors and will cause several undesirable effects like yawning, which you are probably doing right now if you read this far.
