WordPress Visitors Unable to Post Comments – WordPress Posting Settings

The orginal question was regarding how to allow visitors to post comments on a WordPress website.  More specifically how to allow WordPress Comment posting.

1. Click on your Settings panel in your WordPress Dashboard, then click on General. You will see a Membership checkbox that needs to be checked to allow anyone to register on your WordPress website.

2. Click on Discussion under your Settings panel. You have a number of options about how someone is allowed to post to your WordPress website. Choose or unchoose the options you do or do not want. Personally I feel that you want to make posting as easy as possible for anyone who wants to post to your WordPress website so I would uncheck “An administrator must always approve the comment” and “Comment author must have a previously approved comment”. You want to also make sure that “Allow people to post comments on new articles” is checked so it is enabled on your WordPress website.

Now when someone posts a comment to any one of your particular WordPress posts that is the standard typical way of posting to a WordPress website. A more advanced method of posting to WordPress is by using a WordPress plugin like the TDO Mini Forms plugin that will allow someone to fill out a form that you created and they will have more posting and editing options than just posting a simple comment to your WordPress website. A working example of the TDO Mini Form can be found here – http://www.ait-pro.com/aitpro-blog/… Hope that helps. Good Luck! 😉

  1. Outstanding information. Thanks for your tips.

  2. You made some decent points there. I looked on the internet for the topic and found most individuals will consent with your blog.

Hey guys, long time lurker here so thought I would finally post. I’m a little shy because I’m a girl and it seems there are mostly guys here but I wanted to know why it seems you guys don’t have lives. Are the guys with very high post counts really better posters than the ones with less?
