BPS Pro 5.1.6 released on 4-01-2012

Whats New in BPS Pro 5.1.6

The primary focus of BPS Pro 5.1.6 was to complete AutoRestore Generation 2. AutoRestore now contains several new features to ensure WP upgrades go perfectly without any problems, generates a WP Dashboard alert if another plugin has written to a WP Core Root file and any time a file has been autorestored, includes a last modified AutoRestore log file time reset button, includes several manual AutoRestore controls, real time file check displayed directly on the AutoRestore page – WARNING!!! WP Core Root files have been modified and / or do not match your backed up AutoRestore WP Core Root Files or AutoRestore File Status: Your backed up AutoRestore files match your WP Core Root Files and includes an Old WP Core Root file cleanup option to remove old WP Core Root files that are no longer being used as of WP 3.3.1. Please read the extensive help info contained in the Read Me help button on the AutoRestore page for specific details about all the new features in AutoRestore Generation 2.

AutoRestore Menu: AutoRestore now has its own menu link under BPS Pro menus and its own designated options page. The AutoRestore Log now has its own designated page, which you can view by clicking on the AutoRestore menu link and clicking on the AutoRestore Log tab.

New AutoRestore Setup Step: For both First Time Installations and folks who are upgrading from BPS Pro 5.1.5 to BPS Pro 5.1.6 there is a new setup step for AutoRestore. You will see this message displayed in your WP Dashboard – The AutoRestore Log Last Modified Time in DB Needs To Be Set. Click the Click Here link displayed in the setup step message and then click the Reset Last Modified Time in DB button. This is a one time setup step.

Full Site AutoRestore Status Update: Full Site AutoRestore is now scheduled for release in BPS Pro 5.1.8.

BPS Pro Zip Upgrade Changes: We had hoped to include direct upgrade installation coding in BPS Pro 5.1.6, but this has been rescheduled for release in BPS Pro 5.1.7. Upgrading from BPS Pro 5.1.6 to BPS Pro 5.1.7 will require downloading the zip file from the AITpro.com Secure Download area and then installing the zip file upgrade using the BPS built-in Zip Upload installer. Upgrading from BPS Pro 5.1.7 to BPS Pro 5.1.8 will be a direct upgrade installation from within the WP Dashboard instead of having to download and install a zip file using the BPS built-in Zip Upload installer.

Custom Code wp-admin Addition: New wp-admin custom code options have been added for the wp-admin .htaccess file. If you are upgrading from BPS Pro 5.1.5 to BPS Pro 5.1.6 you will see this warning alert – BPS Pro Alert! A valid BPS Pro .htaccess file was NOT found in your wp-admin folder. To create a new wp-admin .htaccess file go to Security Modes and activate BulletProof Mode for the wp-admin Folder. This will create a new wp-admin .htaccess file with the additional coding in it for the new wp-admin Custom Code feature.

Htaccess File Changes

Root .htaccess File Changes: No new .htaccess coding has been added to the Root .htaccess file. In order to show the correct version of the BPS .htaccess file in use and in your WP Dashboard (if you have selected that S-Monitor option) you can edit the Root .htaccess file directly with the BPS File Editor and edit the version by changing # BULLETPROOF PRO 5.1.5 SECURE .HTACCESS to # BULLETPROOF PRO 5.1.6 SECURE .HTACCESS or if you prefer you can create new Master .htaccess files with AutoMagic and Activate BulletProof Mode for your Root folder again.

wp-admin .htaccess File Changes: Significant changes have been made to the wp-admin .htaccess file.
