Whats New in BPS Pro 5.1.5
BPS Pro 5.1.5 is a major version release and there are several new features: AutoRestore CM, Custom Code and Php.ini Master File Maker are the 3 most significant new features.

General BPS Pro Info:
There are several first time and one time set up steps for First Time Installations of BPS Pro. Future upgrades of BPS Pro are very quick and simple.
BPS Pro checks everything in real time so there is no need to worry about forgetting to set something up or setting something up incorrectly. If something is not set up or is set up incorrectly you will see an alert or warning about what needs to be done to correct the problem.
When upgrading BPS Pro, ONLY the BPS Pro plugin files are updated / upgraded. This means that all of your settings and security files (.htaccess and php.ini) remain unchanged and are not affected by installing a newer version of BPS Pro.
Custom php.ini file creation and set up is a one time thing per hosting account. When you create your new custom php.ini file in your Document Root folder it protects all of your websites under your Hosting account. You only need to create 1 custom php.ini file for your entire Hosting account.
PHP Errors are a normal thing that occur on all websites intermittently. PHP errors were already occurring on your website befoe you installed BPS Pro, but you were not being alerted about them. With BPS installed you are now being alerted about these PHP errors. If you do not want to be alerted about PHP errors then you can turn this alert off on the S-Monitor page by choosing Turn Off Displayed Alerts for the PHP Error Log: New Errors in The PHP Error Log alerting option.

First Time Installation of BPS Pro: When installing BPS Pro for the first time you will see alerts and warnings that your site is not protected. Unfortunately, this is necessary thing in order to ensure that you are using the latest BPS Pro Master .htaccess files on your website. Your website is ALWAYS protected with BPS security no matter what unless you actually change something to unprotect your website, such as putting your website in Default Mode. When upgrading BPS Pro, ONLY the BPS Pro plugin files are updated / upgraded. This means that all of your settings and security files (.htaccess and php.ini) remain unchanged and are not affected by installing a newer version of BPS Pro. If you have created additional files within the BPS Pro plugin folders they are NOT affected by upgrading BPS Pro and will NOT be removed, deleted or overwritten. The upgrade will ONLY overwrite BPS Pro plugin files so if you have added additional custom coding to any BPS Pro plugin files then be sure to back them up first before upgrading. BPS Pro Log files WILL be overwritten so if you want to keep your old php error log and http error log (403 error log) files then be sure to use BPS Pro Zip backup to backup your current version of BPS Pro first before upgrading to a new version. When Activating new Master .htaccess files for your website (Activating BulletProof Mode) be sure to back up your old .htaccess files first using the BPS built-in Backup and Restore feature. Another very handy options is to save any custom .htaccess code in-between upgrades to the My Notes page. This allows you to copy and permanently save any custom .htaccess code or .htaccess code modifications that you have added to your .htaccess files so that you can quickly copy that custom .htaccess code back to your new Master .htaccess files before activating them. You could copy your entire Root .htaccess file to the My Notes page if you want as well.

Major Version Release: Whats New in BPS Pro 5.1.5

BPS Pro 5.1.5 is a major version release and there are several new features: AutoRestore CM, Custom Code and Php.ini Master File Maker are the 3 most significant new features.

Upgrading BPS Pro: If you are upgrading from BPS Pro 5.1.4 to BPS Pro 5.1.5 you will see a new S-Monitor Option AutoRestore CM: Display AutoRestore CM Status. Please choose how you want the AutoRestore Status displayed to you and click the Save Options button. I recommend choosing Display Status in WP Dashboard.

First Time Installation of BPS Pro: If you are installing BPS Pro for the first time then you will see the standard first time installation BPS Pro S-Monitor Notification instructing you to go to the S-Monitor page and click the Save Options button. I recommend choosing Display Status in WP Dashboard.

For both First Time Installations and people who are Upgrading: after saving your S-Monitor Options you will now see AutoRestore Status: AutoRestore Options Have Not Been Selected and Saved Yet Click Here. Click on the Click Here link which will take you to the AutoRestore CM page. AutoRestore CM is very simple to setup – 1. Backup WP Core Root Files, 2. Select the Cron Check Frequency, 3. Turn Cron Check On and 4. Save Cron Options. For more detailed setup instructions click the AutoRestore Read Me button.

B-Core AutoRestore CM: This new website security feature is a countermeasure security approach to Brute Force FTP Password Cracking attacks against your Web Host Server directly that lead to code injection into the WP Core Root files. BPS already protects your website from direct hacking attempts against your website, but BPS cannot protect your Web Host Server directly. AutoRestore CM is countermeasure website security that will automatically restore your WP Core Root Files if a hacker has compromised your Web Host Server and injected code into your WP Core Root files. The most vulnerable files in this type of attack on a Web Host Server are the files in the root folder. There are 3 monitoring options for AutoRestore CM. 1. Display the AutoRestore Status in your WP Dashboard or BPS pages Only. 2. Send an email alert if a file is restored. 3. AutoRestore Log – logs the filename, date and time it was automatically restored and the contents of the file that was restored.NOTE: The BPS Root .htaccess file is also protected with AutoRestore and if you edit your Root .htaccess file while AutoRestore is on your new edited Root .htaccess file is automatically backed up to the AutoRestore folder so that it is current and identical.

B-Core Custom Code: This new feature allows you to permanently save any custom .htaccess code to your WP Database permanently and automatically have that custom code be created in your Root .htaccess file when you click the Create secure.htaccess File AutoMagic button. If your website requires php.ini handler code in your Root .htaccess file and BPS Pro is unable to detect your Web Host because you have a Private Name Server, you are using CloudFlare, you are using Pipe DNS or some other service that is blocking your true Web Host Name Servers and DNS information then you can permanently save your php.ini handler code with B-Core Custom Code. Add custom .htaccess plugin fixes code for personal plugins that you are using. These plugin fixes are saved permanently and automatically created in your Root .htaccess file with you click the Create secure.htaccess File AutoMagic button.

P-Security Php.ini Master File Maker: This new feature allows you to quickly and easily create a custom Master php.ini file for your website, which you can then use to create your custom php.ini file from. In prior versions of BPS Pro this was a very time consuming and confusing process. This new automation now makes creating a custom php.ini file fast and simple.

New .htaccess Security Code: Some new security filters have been added to the Root .htaccess file. It is recommended, but completely optional, that you create a new secure.htaccess Master .htaccess file with AutoMagic and Activate BulletProof Mode for your Root folder. If you have custom .htaccess code or if you have a website where your Web Host cannot be detected by BPS then you can use the new Custom Code feature in B-Core to add and save your custom .htaccess code before you create your new secure.htaccess Master .htaccess file with AutoMagic.
