The GD Star Rating 500 error – Internal Server Error when trying to view the site Feed can be caused by a combination of conditions.  If you have a caching plugin installed and GD Star Rating installed and have your Syndication feeds set to display a very large number of items / posts you will experience 500 Internal Server errors.  For Example with W3 Total Cache installed, GD Star Rating installed and “Syndication feeds show the most recent” 100 items (posts) you will most likely get a 500 Internal Server error if you have the Full Text option set instead of Summary selected.

To change your RSS syndication feed settings – Click on your Settings panel and click Reading to change your RSS syndication settings.
